Beyond the Chair: Dr. Lee Weisbard on 30 Years of Compassionate Dentistry in the DTC
For over 30 years, Dr. Lee Weisbard has been a fixture in the Denver Tech Center (DTC) community, providing exemplary general, restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. But for Dr. Weisbard, dentistry has always been about more than just teeth—it is about listening, mentoring, and restoring confidence.
From her early days in public health to her current role as President of the Denver Jewish Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Weisbard has built a career defined by service and leadership. We sat down with Dr. Weisbard to discuss her unique consultation process, her work with underserved communities, and her recent recognition as a 2025 finalist for the ColoradoBiz Top Company Awards.
Q: You have practiced in the DTC for over 30 years and are known for a patient-first philosophy. Can you explain why you prioritize meeting patients in a consultation room to discuss their goals before they ever sit in a dental chair?
Dr. Lee Weisbard: We provide options and make sure we have answered their specific questions and work to meet their goals. Starting this process in a consultation room helps build trust and a solid relationship. This relieves stress and anxiety and allows the patient to feel in control of their health. It’s a business model I value and can feel good about.
Q: Your career began in the public health sector with Denver Health & Hospitals, where you served individuals in low-income areas. How did those early experiences—mentoring women and the homeless—shape your understanding of how a new smile can break cycles and rebuild confidence?
Dr. Lee Weisbard: My early experiences in public health and in mentoring young women reshaped how I see dentistry. Dentistry and a healthy smile act as a catalyst for transformation. Being exposed to the realities of systemic barriers showed me how limited access to care compounds hardship and continues the cycle of poverty. Good oral health dictates employability, self-confidence, and self-worth. I witnessed the changes a healthy smile made on these young women and saw their confidence improve, and saw many of them make positive changes in their lives and their communities
Q: You are deeply involved in community leadership, having served on the Alpha Omega International Board and currently serving as the President of the Denver Jewish Chamber of Commerce. Why is maintaining such an active role in these local and national organizations important to you?
Dr. Lee Weisbard: Maintaining an active role in local and national organizations matters because leadership is an extension of service, a responsibility. Serving these and other organizations allows me to contribute beyond my practice, engaging in conversations that strengthen my profession and my community. These roles give me a seat at the table where I can make a difference. Meaningful impact happens with shared experiences, mentoring others, and being an advocate for what I believe is right. I have a deep commitment to being a steward of my profession and my community. It’s my way of giving back.
Q: You have received numerous accolades, including the 2018 Colorado Businesswoman of the Year and the 2019 Dress for Success Impact Award. Most recently, you were named a 2025 finalist in the Healthcare Category for the ColoradoBiz Top Company Awards. What do these honors mean to you and the team at Weisbard Dental?
Dr. Lee Weisbard: Each honor is a reflection of trust. These recognitions affirm our commitment to clinical excellence, continuing education, and the highest standards of care, while also validating the heart we bring to every patient relationship.
Awards also serve as accountability. They remind us that excellence is not a destination but a responsibility we take seriously. We treat all our patients with compassion and integrity. Most importantly, these honors belong to our patients and our team. They are a shared achievement, reinforcing our mission to deliver care that is worthy of lasting trust.
